WELCOME TO THE NORVIR ANITITRUST LITIGATION WEBSITE

Norvir is the brand name for ritonavir, which is a drug manufactured by Abbott. Norvir is used as a "booster" for drugs called protease inhibitors that are used to treat HIV and AIDS.

In this lawsuit, the plaintiffs claim that Abbott Laboratories unlawfully raised the price of Norvir to restrict competition. The lawsuit seeks money damages and injunctive relief for consumers and third-party payors ("TPPs") that paid for Norvir.

The Court has said that the lawsuit may go forward on behalf of a Class of consumers and TPPs. The Class consists of all persons or entities throughout the United States and its territories who paid for, or reimbursed another person or entity for Norvir used to boost protease inhibitors. These purchases or reimbursements must have been made after December 3, 2003. Excluded from the Class are Abbott Laboratories and its subsidiaries and affiliates, all government entities (except for government-funded employee benefit funds), and all persons or entities that purchased Norvir: (i) for purposes of resale, or (ii) directly from Abbott Laboratories.
